Write to your child Letter writing can be part of your sponsorship Although not obligatory to being a sponsor, hearing from you will encourage your child and give them a real boost in life. Building up a friendship will be productive and will not only transform their life but also yours. Letter writing is facilitated by Micah's Call in the UK. We make sure that every sponsor recieves a letter from thier child every six months. As a sponsor, you are free to reply and even write again straight away, there are no limits. A letter first goes through Micah's Call in the UK, and then the carer's looking after the child. Here are some tips for writing to guide you in sending informative and sensitive letters to your child:1. Write regularly - Keen on really making an impact in your child's life? Keep up to date with them, know their prayer requests, and be to them a source of encouragement and hope. Let them receive not only you financial support, but also your friendship, prayer, encouragement and support. 2. Keep it simple - Not only will this help in translation, but you are writing to a child, so aim you letter at a child, focusing on their family, school, friends and ambitions for the future. Talk about similarities in your interests. Encourage them in their spiritual walk with God and in their everyday life. 3. Do's and Don'ts - Avoid talking about material possessions, as often they will have very little. Maintain your privacy, by not giving your home address. Photos of you and your family are great. Careful not to pose in outfits which would offend the culture. You can send items as gifts - paper and envelope sized only. Ways to write: |
