Community Sponsorship

The background

Most of the children in the Love India child sponsorship program are sponsored in the JMHA home at Adaikanoor, South India. The home has around 80 children who live in an open and happy atmosphere, where fun and education are high on the agenda, giving them the opportunities they might never have had before.

However...

Some of the children have parents in the community who are able to care for their children if it wasn't for the fact that they did not have enough money to do so. This is a common problem world over where poverty is so much that families can eat one day, and not the next due to having no money to buy food.

So...

Some children in our sponsorship program live with parents in villages while also being sponsored. Far from being selective or singled out as being unfairly benifited, communities often welcome the support of their most needy community members, and the contact that the village recieves from the home staff running the program has created a greater awareness of individual villages needs, allowing the wider organisation of JMHA to more effectively serve the most needy areas.
